Out Patient Consultation

Out patient consultations occur at the Plymouth Nuffield Hospital.

The out patient consultation allows you and your surgeon to discuss your medical problem, for you to be examined if appropriate, and for any further investigations or treatments to be organised.

Your referring doctor (usually your GP) will have sent a letter to us, detailing the reasons for your referral and giving us any background information.

You may go on to have further tests on the day of the consultation if you and your surgeon agree this is appropriate (eg. urine tests, flow rates, xrays).

A first consultation takes between 20 and 30 minutes.
